Birch Surveyors were hired by Murdoch Newell & Co. to monitor commercial building pads at the Pukekohe Mega Centre, over a period of 6 weeks to check for differential settlement.
We agreed on a suitable method of monitoring with the consulting geologists for the project, and established a 'baseline' level and then regularly returned to site to check the levels.
Our results were processed and graphs indicating movement were provided to the consulting geologists.
It was interesting to observe that the ground rose slightly on occasions, due to groundwater fluctuations.
