How was 2010?

20 December 2010

AUTHOR:Kevin Birch

2010 has been a year of change, both for the community and for us at Birch Surveyors Ltd. Clearly the most significant change has been the amalgamation of the local authorities into one Auckland Council, and the amalgamation of parts of the former Franklin District into the Waikato and Hauraki Plains District Councils. To the credit of the Transitional Authority and those staff involved, the changes have been rather smooth. I am certain, we will see significant changes over the next few years as a result of single large Auckland Council.

At Birch Surveyors, we have been pleased to employ an additional two Licensed Surveyors, and currently also have two survey students working during their Christmas breaks. We have also benefitted from the part time employment of a planner of the latter part of the year.

As this will be the last of my article for the year, I wish everyone all the best for the Christmas break and the New Year. I trust my articles have proved informative for those interested in the issues. Remember you can read any of the previous year’s articles at our this website.  I look forward to keeping you informed of current issues during 2011, and thank all our clients for their patronage during the year.

Our office will be closed from midday on Thursday 23rd December 2010 and reopening on Monday 17th January 2011
